You will not lose muscle if you exercise. Alternate days - upper body, lower body.

If you exercise, your muscles are built up. So exercise and go on your strict diet and your muscles will be just fine. :)

I would say that it wouldn’t be extremly dangerous but it isn’t healthy. For you to stay healthy you need to diet and exercise and only lose around 1 pound a week. Do a good amount of exercise like running and push-ups and sit-ups ect. Also go on only diets that a doctor recommends.

Definitely want to incorporate weight lifting exercise along with dieting to make sure you keep your muscle (muscle increases metabolism- if you lose muscle your metabolism drops) and drink plenty of water- also make sure you are taking in an adequate amount of protein.

Exercise, exercise, and exercise. Theres no other way.

Running is handy and cheap. But if u find it boring and dont have money to join the gym (for weights or any random aerobic class), another good option is dancing lessons: salsa and latin dance in general are fun. U exercise without effort and get to meet loads of people!

Also other ‘exotic’ options like capoeira, belly dance or yoga are quite good for keeping muscle.

Hey, good luck with ur diet!
Im running myself to keep in shape, and it feel really good. :)

Although your question is complicated because you are going on a strict diet, here is what you can do:

    1) Make sure you get protein frequently. If your body does not have needed amino acids available it will rob your muscles to get them.

    2) Exercise strenuously, preferably with weights, to help encourage your muscles to realize they are needed. Generally, you will damage muscle when you work it in this way, and it repairs by attempting to grow larger — though on a diet it may not be able to.

    3) Avoid long bouts of cardio while dieting. Long periods of intense exercise can become catabolic, meaning that your body will use your muscles as an energy source.

    4) If you are somebody who takes supplements, consider taking a branch chained amino acid supplement. This type of supplement can kick your body into an anabolic state, which helps avoid muscle loss.

    5) Don’t forget your peri-workout nutrition. This can have a large impact on your ability to recover from a workout and move your body from catabolic stance to an anabolic stance.

However, as you must recognize, massive and rapid weight loss will generally result in muscle loss. Steps, like the above, can be taken to minimize muscle loss, but it is unlikely to stop it.

    Good luck!

I think you should be working on your mindset first.
go to: How to lose 2 pounds a week? :
I believe that weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy.

You see, we are what we are today because of our past… our past actions.. these actions are decided by our decisions in what to eat and whether to exercise lead and they lead us to having this figure today..

These decisions come from your mindsets.

Now, suppose I do teach you how to lose the weight and you do lose it.. but if your mindsets and decisions are the same.. and so your actions are the same. So you would continue to eat as you did, sleep as you did and ta da!

After three months, you probably will not maintian your weight loss but instead go back to square one.. dun you agree? ;)
So it is impt to get your mindsets right first.

Before you start any weight loss program, here are some questions you might like to think about to prepare your mindset for weight loss:

    1) What is my goal? I want to lose __kg in __ time.
    2) Why do I want to achieve this goal? (if possible, come up with 50 reasons)
    3) If I do not achieve it, what pains will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
    4) If I achieve it, what happiness will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
    5) What will happen to me if I continue my current situation for the next 10 years?
    6) Then when do I want to take action?

Some solutions I can offer you for diet:
    Breakfast: eat fruits/drink fruit juice
Lunch: Less carbo, more veg and fruits, less seafood, meat and eggs
Dinner: Same as lunch but no solid food after 8pm. Soups are great dinners

If you want to exercise to enhance the speed of weight loss. Go for some light jogging or do something you enjoy like an aerobic class or kick boxing class…
