DONNA

If you lift your legs, you can release hormones that can help your other muscles grow. Plus, it sounds like you are like me. For now, you could work your legs and add a few lbs of muscle (easier than on arms for instance). Every lb. of muscle you add can burn an extra 25-40 calories a day. 5 lbs of muscle can burn up to 1400 calories a week, or a pound every 2 1/2 weeks. You don't have to KEEP the extra muscle forever, just a thought to help you to burn off more fat.

However, I will say this. YOUR LEGS ARE VERY STRONG compared the the rest of your body. You should work them some. Try doing sets of 20-25 reps. You'll get stronger, be less likely to get hurt, and won't gain much more size (but can get more defined legs). Cardio doesn't work your legs as much as squats or leg press.

MARY

If you are not wanting them to get any bigger than I would suggest that you stick with the cardio but even some cardio can make you gain muscles in your legs, It depends on the type of cadio that you are doing, but no if you don't want you legs to get any bigger then i would say stay off of the weights, unless you are just maintaining what you have and not trying to biuld anymore, by this I mean light weights only a couple of sets and only about once a week! Best Of Luck!

MARGARET

Cardio is fine for legs. I have the same problem. Unless you have skinny legs, you should mostly focus on upper body. Cardio is better for you in end anyway. It is easy to lose muscle but takes years to lose built up cardio exercises.
