If this is your first 10/k race I would advise not doing any weight training because your body should be as supple as possible. If you have 9 weeks left just make sure you are doing the best running training and if strength is what you want, then do some hill training only on a slight incline.

The most mportant thing at the moment is to make sure you are doing adequate stretching, what ever time you were going to allocate to weight traing replace with a good stretching routine.</description>
